Cacao Avocado Mousse

Being healthy shouldn’t mean deprivation, and that’s certainly showcased to perfection with this recipe! Everyone’s taste-buds are different so feel free to add a little more sweetener – just make sure it’s a good quality sweetener, ideally from a health food store.

GF / DF / NF

  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1 tbsp nut butter or tahini
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or 1/2 vanilla pod
  • 2 tbsp cacao
  • 2 tbsp honey, natural maple syrup or brown rice syrup

Add all ingredients to your blender / food processor and blend until fully mixed and smooth. At this point you can test for sweetness and add a little more maple syrup or brown rice syrup if desired.

Can be enjoyed immediately or stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Serve with your choice of seasonal berries, yoghurt and a sprinkle of nuts and seeds (if desired).

Tip: this fabulous mousse can also be substituted as a healthy icing on a cake, enjoy!
